Nice to meet you.

My name is Shachar Or.

I am a certified therapist in a variety of water and land methods: hydrotherapy, Watsu, Jahara, mind-body psychotherapy, and parents guidance.

I have always loved water, in all its forms, whether in a pool, the sea, streams, or waterfalls. Water is comforting, acts as a supportive and regulating medium. It helps to ground one, as well as expand. It soothes pain, and recharges one with new energy.

When I started treating people with Watsu and hydrotherapy, in 2014, I realized that water allows feelings to surface, and that a large portion of my patients are 'both and both' patients. They came to hydrotherapy to treat a physical problem such as: joint replacement, back pain, fibromyalgia. And they stayed in the water because the treatment helped them with the emotional background they came with: bereavement, Holocaust survivors, primary care giver, anxiety.

I added and studied advanced courses in hydrotherapy as a treatment for autism and sensory regulation. I also understood that in order to give my patients more correct treatment, I needed to learn more about the emotional realm. I studied with Ruth Ben Asher on treatment of trauma and birth trauma, with Assaf Rolf Ben Shahar, psychotherapy that incorporates contact called postural integration, with Tova Rosen I studied Jahara, and at the Shiluv College in Tivon, a four-year course in mind-body psychotherapy. During my work with children, I realized that I needed hone my parental guidance skills, so that I could give parents a better response, and I studied this subject at Oranim College.

All of these therpeutic approaches serve as my toolbox when I come to a patient, and each patient receives the right combination and mix for them at the current moment: active elements from Jahara and hydrotherapy, passive elements from Watsu Jahara and postural integrations, and elements of psychotherapeutic conversation.

I also provide treatment on dry land, with a relational mind-body orientation, and as a parent instructor. It is possible to combine water and land treatments, according to the patient's request.

I am grateful to my patients for the trust they place in me, and for the opportunity they give me to touch them and help them change what can be changed, and accept what cannot be changed.
